Ep 49: What’s the Foundation of a Successful Retirement?

Retirement

On This Episode

If you want a successful retirement, we’re sharing some of the foundational building blocks you need to have in place. For example, is your income plan ready to go?

Takeaways

On today’s Saving With Silverman podcast, Mark Silverman CFP® shares the foundation of what makes a good retirement plan. How does your plan measure up?

The foundation of a successful retirement is your income plan. Financial planning encompasses many different plans, including your estate plan, tax plan, insurance plan, health insurance plan, an income plan, etc. If you have no plan, you’re just flying blind.

Very few people have an income plan. Some people have a rough plan, but most people plan to rely on Social Security. As we’ve discussed many times, it isn’t going to cover you for retirement.

Most people don’t know how to turn the money that they’ve saved into an income that’s going to last.  They are often unprepared for retirement and don’t have the tools, training, and knowledge to handle retirement planning. We help our clients understand the process and cover all their angles.

So, what steps should you take to get an income plan together? Find a Certified Financial Planner, like us, to help guide you. Some people are just trying to sell you something and tout annuities, but annuities are not the solution.

If you don’t have an income plan, you don’t have any plan.
